About
One of the foremost violinists of his generation, Albert started playing the violin at the age of 8 at Tehran’s prestigious Do Re Mi Academy. He later continued his studies in London from the age of 10, where he has been residing since. In 2011, he joined the Centre for Young Musicians, studying with Khac-Uyen Nguyen. In 2013, he attended the Junior Royal Academy of Music, studying with Ms. Julia Jasinski and Ms. Yumi Sasaki. During this time, he performed recitals and appeared as a soloist.
As the first British-Iranian violinist to do so, he continued his undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor Diana Cummings, graduating with Honours in 2021. He then completed his postgraduate studies at Senior level with Professor Joshua Fisher, graduating in 2023. He has taken masterclasses with many renowned violinists such as Nicola Benedetti, James Ehnes, Michael Foyle, György Pauk, Robin Wilson, Giovanni Guzzo, Nathaniel Anderson-Frank, and Levon Chilingirian.
He first appeared as a soloist at the age of 14, performing ‘Summer’ and ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons with the CYM String Orchestra and Westminster Academy Orchestra. Around the same time, he also gave recitals featuring works by Bach, Sarasate, and Albinoni, as well as his own compositions for piano, which he has studied since the age of 10.
His most recent solo performances include the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 and, most notably, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, with the Alba Sinfonia and Elstree Mozart Players — receiving standing ovations at all three performances.
Albert’s wide palette of musical ability has led him to perform on diverse stages, including with artists such as Stormzy at the Wireless Festival, and on tour with the Ibiza Orchestra, performing club classics. He also toured with the London Film Music Orchestra, performing famous film scores by John Williams and Hans Zimmer.
Albert has extensive classical orchestral experience, having taken part in numerous projects with the London Concert Orchestra, Orion Orchestra, Brio Orchestra, and Fantasia Orchestra. He also performed with Royal Academy of Music ensembles such as the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra. Since the age of 11, Albert was a member of the LSSO (London Schools Symphony Orchestra), performing in venues such as the Barbican Hall and Royal Festival Hall, and on tour to Spain and Aberystwyth, Wales. This gave him the opportunity to work with many distinguished conductors and perform major repertoire such as Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Strauss's Alpine Symphony, Don Quixote, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2. He also performed in numerous world premieres, including The Great Animal Orchestra by Bernie Krause, who conducted the performance himself.
He has worked with esteemed conductors including Semyon Bychkov, Edward Gardner (OBE), Sir Mark Elder, John Wilson, Nick Daniels, Dinis Sousa, Carlos Izcaray, Anthony Weeden, Howard Williams, and many more. Performances have taken him to major venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall, Barbican Hall, Royal Festival Hall, St. Alfege Church, Duke’s Hall in London, Cadogan Hall, Logan Hall, as well as many prestigious venues across the UK and abroad.
Albert is currently a violin fellow in the Overture Scheme of the Royal Ballet and Opera at Covent Garden and studies closely with musicians from the orchestra.
He is also a versatile chamber musician who has performed in a variety of ensembles during his time at the Royal Academy of Music, specializing in piano trio repertoire. His most recent chamber project was as part of the Endelienta Chamber Music Festival in Cornwall, where he played Mendelssohn’s Octet and Copland’s Appalachian Spring. He also worked with the Manchester Collective as part of a quartet performing an avant-garde version of Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber — a type of work he enjoys deeply and hopes to explore further.
Believing firmly in the power of music to transform lives, Albert is also a dedicated educator and pedagogue of the violin, piano, viola, and composition at his studio in North London. Having completed his Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and Colourstrings teacher training, he brings deep pedagogical knowledge to his work and is confident teaching students of all ages and levels.
Albert is also a distinguished conductor, having started learning conducting at the age of 15 with Peter Ash. He continued his training at the Junior Academy with Howard Williams and Rebecca Miller, and later studied with Dominic Grier as both an undergraduate and postgraduate student, specializing in the conducting style of Johannes Brahms.
Albert is passionate about charitable causes and plans to organize more benefit concerts raising funds for children in need across the UK and abroad, including collaborations with UNICEF.
He is also a skilled improviser, composer, and arranger/transcriber, having written and arranged music for violin and piano. He plans to incorporate more of this into his busy performing and teaching schedule.
In the world of acting, Albert appeared as a violinist extra in the film Rocketman — the biopic of Sir Elton John — and played the role of First Violinist in Hugo Max’s silent film Dissonance, about the Dissonance Quartet.
For leisure, Albert enjoys swimming, a sport in which he competed at a young age (6–7). He also enjoys learning languages and painting, particularly with chalk pastels and watercolours.
Albert is a recipient of the Harrison-Frank Foundation instrument loan, currently playing a Jacob Ford violin made in London in 1770.
